(Liatrus punctata) Perennial with rose to purple coloured blossoms, 20-60 cm (8-24") tall, blooms July to September. Will grow on moderately rich soils in full sun. Attractive ornamental and cut flower. A good plant for a butterfly garden. Attracts birds, butterflies and bees. Seed in early spring or late fall. Sow 4 to 6 mm (1/8-1/4") deep. If grown in shade, becomes rampant and unruly with few inferior flowers.
