Bergamot (Monarda fistulosa) Pink flowers, 45 to 90 cm tall, blooms July and August. Powdery mildew can be a problem in humid areas. Deer resistant.
Attracts: Butterflies and hummingbirds.
Planting Instructions: Seed in early June or late fall. Sow seeds 3 to 6 mm (1/8-1/4”) deep. Germination rates are high.
Germination: 5 to 7 days.
Habitat: Open woods and moist grasslands.
Uses: The gray-green leaves have a strong scent and make a tea similar in taste to Earl Grey tea.
